Day 96

You'll notice I missed some days. Despite my perfectionist desire to go back and post a photo for each missing day, I have decided instead to post some of those picture on my "real" blog along with the stories that accompany them.

I will just begin posting again with today's picture.

This picture is much to dark and lacks perspective, but it's the best I could do from within the house. The snowflakes, according to my mother-in-law who does NOT share my propensity to exaggerate, were 3" across! I have never seen snowflakes that enormous... And it's April! Grrrrr...

I'm full, mama... Full, I tell you...

Finally, she emerged!

Day 80

Odd man, I mean cookie, out?

Wednesday, March 19, 2008

Day 79

Teaching music.

Tuesday, March 18, 2008

Day 78

Family portrait by Kjersten.

Monday, March 17, 2008

Day 77

What you can't really see is how incredibly hard it is snowing thru the sunshine.

Sunday, March 16, 2008

Day 76

Here comes the rain...

Day 72

Daddy playing with baby. Think they look alike?

Tuesday, March 11, 2008

Day 71

Here's itsy, bitsy, teeny, weeny..... Oh, never mind! Just a nine month old baby boy who refuses to stay little for his mama.

Monday, March 10, 2008

Day 70

I might be very sorry that I ordered this for Jason. He's had it less than 4 hours and already his list of "oh... we oughta make this!" is very long... On the positive side, he is completely inspired and totally entertained with his new reading material.

Sunday, March 9, 2008

Day 69

Sick little baby boy.

Saturday, March 8, 2008

Friday, March 7, 2008

Day 67

The neighbor's as seen in the reflection from my (mostly) clean car. Gotta love the landscape here. Rock. Dirt. The occasional tree. And to think, I grew up in the Pacific Northwest... No, I have NOT acclimated!

Thursday, March 6, 2008

Day 66

Brennen's artwork. I don't know if it's the paper or the fact that they painted with pudding, but the paper is terribly brittle. Like crack and break in your hand. Weird. Now that we've all admired his handiwork, the actual medium is in the trash. Shhhhh... don't tell George!

Wednesday, March 5, 2008

Day 65

Ineptitude. Mine. Not hers. Kjersten bought a loom thing today. I know I had one as a little girl. Do you think, I can remember how to do this? Nope. Not a bit. I left Lou to her own devices and this is what she did. Seems this craft is not done by intuition alone. Guess we'll have to actually try to decipher the instructions tomorrow...

Tuesday, March 4, 2008

Day 64

One cannot use a flash to take a photo of nice shiny apples. One really should move them into natural light and photograph them there. One should not leave them on the counter under incandescent light. That is lazy and results in a photo like the one shown above.

Stay tuned for the reason we have a vast variety of apples...

Monday, March 3, 2008

Day 63

Brennen giving Cael a big squeeze...

Sunday, March 2, 2008

Day 62

Freaky spring weather. Warm. Sunny. Snowing.

Saturday, March 1, 2008

Day 61

Two peas in a pod.

Friday, February 29, 2008

Day 60

Lou told me she heard her favorite song on the radio. She wrote down when it was on so we could be sure to hear it the next time it was on. I find this very enlightening. It's never occurred to me that my children might assume that radio stations play the same songs at the same time all day long... Sounds logical, doesn't it? She was disappointed when I explained how it really works... (I never did find out what song it was. I better work on that for her!)

Thursday, February 28, 2008

Day 59

George was looking for a little privacy while he got dressed... I didn't have the heart to tell him a laundry basket provides little in the way of privacy...

Wednesday, February 27, 2008

Day 58

Ever enthusiastic.

Tuesday, February 26, 2008

Day 57

Auntie Sara got tired of being the "hoop" for George's basketball game so she suggested the kids bowl instead. Think they had fun?!
(Yes, George has a headlamp on. Just because he can.)

Monday, February 25, 2008

Day 56

Thanks to my friend Cynthia in Alaska and her post about RJ. (See here.) It reminded me that our little boys still fit in the kitchen sink for bath time! And, boy, does Cael love it!!

Sunday, February 24, 2008

Day 55

This really is a recipe from "America's Test Kitchen." It's called "Hot Fudge Pudding Cake" and it is so yummy. Jason found it in the cookbook he got me for Christmas. Wonder what other delicious recipes are dwelling between the covers of that book?

Day 54

"Mom, that looks like a recipe from 'America's Test Kitchen."
"No, George. It's just my chicken pot pie recipe."
"Oh."
Yes, the three year old really did say this. Then he refused to eat dinner. Perhaps if I'd let the show take credit, he would have eaten it?

Friday, February 22, 2008

Day 53

Kjersten took this photo of her "Eiffel Tower" creation. See the resemblance? I guess it was a little taller before Cael "helped" her!

Thursday, February 21, 2008

Day 52

Whack!!!

(from the archives... the camera batteries croaked during the lunar eclipse last night)

Wednesday, February 20, 2008

Day 51

What else would I post tonite?

Do you know the story of Columbus and how this eclipse in 1504 saved his life and the life of his crew? If not, click here.

Tuesday, February 19, 2008

Day 50

Baby Ole has learned to kneel. Suddenly that's the prefered way of playing. No sitting for Cael. No thank you. He'll kneel. Much more interesting.

Monday, February 18, 2008

Day 49

Our tooth fairy is a slacker. Rhys lost a tooth at church on Saturday night. As is customary, he put it in the dish on the counter. Tooth fairy no-showed Saturday night. Kids decided that dad had stayed up too late and the tooth fairy cannot stop when everyone is not asleep. Tooth stays on counter in bowl. Sunday night the tooth fairy skips our house AGAIN!!! Have you ever heard of such a thing? Crazy... Seems the tooth fairy got her act together. This morning, Rhys found a shiny gold $1 coin in place of that tooth. Finally.

Sunday, February 17, 2008

Saturday, February 16, 2008

Day 47

It's like the postmark on Christmas cards... As long as it's postmarked by Christmas, it's all good, right? Well, we made the cookie dough on Valentine's Day. Just took us until today to roll it out and bake them. We might even manage to deliver them to grandma & grandpa tomorrow...

Friday, February 15, 2008

Day 46

Just going to play a game or two...

Thursday, February 14, 2008

Day 45

"I love playing with my buddy Bret. He makes me laugh!"

Wednesday, February 13, 2008

Day 44

Rain? Blurry, but definitely there... Of course, it was gone by 8 a.m. and it did not return. Figures.

Tuesday, February 12, 2008

Day 43

New goggles and face mask. He's ready to tackle that mountain. Again.

Monday, February 11, 2008

Day 42

Cael with his oldest brother.
Or, more accurately... Rhys with his youngest brother. (Thanks Carol!)

Sunday, February 10, 2008

Day 41

Perfect hand hold, huh Cael?!

Saturday, February 9, 2008

Day 40

"Look at the snow. Oh, nevermind... I think I'll just lick the window..."

Friday, February 8, 2008

Day 39

Junk food should never be on sale. Ever. We seem to like these little treats. They are an outrageous $2.50/ box at Target. My dear friend, Amy, called the other day to say she'd found them for a mere $.65/ box at a discount store. Really? Oh, I rue the day...

Thursday, February 7, 2008

Day 38

What an ordeal... Who knew that sealants on teeth could cause such strife in a little girl's day? She survived (with the help of nitrous oxide and her mama's soothing presence). Just wait 'til she finds out that the dentist wants to pull some teeth. We're going to need general anesthesia for that one!

Wednesday, February 6, 2008

Day 37

This is the "Bob the Tomato" super hero cape I made Rhys at least 7 years ago. It has been resurected and, once again, is helping a three year old leap, fly, and proclaim "super-hero" status. George (and the mama) couldn't be happier!
