Day 30

I bought this comb in August 1989 at the RiteAid in Moscow, Idaho. I was a freshman at WSU. I've had it longer than I've had my hubby! It still sits in the shower and gets used nearly every day. What a quality piece of plastic, don't you think?!

Day 29

Seems my kids don't outgrow their pudgy hands. Here's the 10 year old's hands.

Day 28

Every baby simply must have one of these...
(Oops! For the uninitiated, here's a link: Skwish toy)

Day 27

Who knew they made purple "cake sparkles"? It's actually edible glitter for just such an occasion as a seven year old's birthday celebration snack at co-op...

Day 26

My friend, Carol, and I got to take three giggly girls to the movies this afternoon in celebration of Kjersten's 7th birthday. We saw "Enchanted" and it was perfect for them. I loaded them up with Mountain Dew, cotton candy, and popcorn. Then I dropped them all off in the 1st grade room at church. Bet my name is "mud" around Children's ministry tonite! :)

Day 25

Forgive the blurry. He ate the rest before I cold bet a better picture. Wanna guess what's on that peanut butter sandwich? Trust me... You don't! It's deli ham. Ewwwwww... Only a 10 year old boy would make and then eat that!

Day 24

Why? Where do you keep your boys?

Wednesday, January 23, 2008

Day 23

This means it's too early to be up, don't you think?!

Tuesday, January 22, 2008

Day 22

What do you mean, not every keeps their stools on TOP of the counter? Everyone must not have an newly eight month old terror!

Monday, January 21, 2008

Day 21

Why, yes... I can fit them all in my mouth!

Sunday, January 20, 2008

Day 20

Finally... the eldest loses another tooth! Tooth fairy's going broke around here!

Saturday, January 19, 2008

Day 19

Sharing Cheerios off the floor with my buddy Bret.
That's friendship.

Day 18

Check out our "real" blog to see what Ole did today...

Day 17

Zoology. I hate zoology. These lovely creatures will turn into beetles soon. Great.

Day 16

Now, she's just hogging the blog...

Had to show off the new spectacles with flowers on the sides. Very cute. (It's hard to see, but they're purple. Kjersten's choice.)

Tuesday, January 15, 2008

Day 15

And the gap widens...

Monday, January 14, 2008

Day 14

He's between smiles. Honest. It's hard to catch him not grinning so here you go... (see the dripping drool? Ewwww!)

Day 13

Okay. Look at this box. It was an impulse buy from the game section at Target. My children are really into playing war, go fish, etc... these days. I thought this would help Lou & George. Cheap little things. Wasn't convinced they'd work but for $1.50, I was willing to try them.

Shock! They work. They work well! The kids love them. They are very simple, sturdy, and colorful. Love them. I was impressed. Cheap little things.

Then, yesterday, I was looking at the yellow holder. Lo & behold, there's a brand name on the holder. Of all things, it's Leap Frog. Huh?! How did that happen?

I don't know. Yes, I actually care. It's those kinds of things that drive me nuts! How did one of our favorite company's name end up on a awesome little helper sold very inexpensively by some odd brand... That's rhetorical, unless you actual have a theory. If you do, please share. It's bugging me!

Day 12

It's difficult to take pictures with a seven month old chewing on the lens cap. But... he was having such fun, I couldn't bear to pry it from his hands.

Day 11

"Well, hello mama!"

Thursday, January 10, 2008

Day 10

This was going to be my picture today, as it is Cael's new favorite food.

But, this is a better representation...

Note the Cheerio stuck up the nose, while he happily eats his peach.

Wednesday, January 9, 2008

Day 9

Supposed to be in bed. Instead, reading a new book from the library.

(Yes Jamie, I do actually photograph all four kiddos eventually! Oh, and do you recognize the Bob the Builder comforter? Well used and loved! Ignore the space pillow case. My kids care nothing for consistency in decor.)

Tuesday, January 8, 2008

Day 8

One tiny baby tooth gone. One giant permanent tooth about to debut. One step closer to orthodontia... She is blissfully unaware!

Monday, January 7, 2008

Day 7

Thirsty, baby Cael?

Day 6

George and his Christmas gift from Grandma. She made him a monkey of his very own and found some funky monkey PJs. He loves them both.

Saturday, January 5, 2008

Day 5

This is a print I've had my eye on at the local Bible Book Store for a while. With our Dave Ramsey budgeting, I've resigned myself to waiting for a 20% off coupon and hoping it's still there to purchase. Well, the book store is closing and this week all merchandise is 20% off. Next week, it'll be 30% and so on... I was driving past today, exhausted and sore, when I saw the store out of the corner of my eye. A quick left turn, 10 seconds in the store straight to where this picture hangs, a quick hobble to the register, and minutes later... it's mine! Actually, it's the kids'. It's going in their jungle themed bathroom we're nearly finished with downstairs. Too cute!

Day 4

"C" is for Cael.

Cael happily sucking on a green onion. Yummy!

Thursday, January 3, 2008

Day 3

"B" is for... Brennen, of course!

Tonight, when I got home from dinner and shopping with the girls, Brennen was waiting patiently for his kiss good-night. Oh, I love those fat little cheeks and those big blue eyes. He got an extra smooch for being so dang cute!

Wednesday, January 2, 2008

Day 2

"A" is for (homemade) applesauce.

Cael is child #4 and will likely always wear hand-me-downs, never have a baby book, always be forced to sleep on the bottom bunk, and likely "never get to do anything fun 'cause (fill in sibling's name here) got into trouble doing it..." So, preemptively, I am doing something incredibly over the top (not really) for him. I am making all of his baby food (except cereal). My hope is that when he's boo-hooing that one of his siblings got to _________ (fill in the blank), I can lovingly scoop him onto my lap and tell him that I pureed his peas, mashed his bananas, and made him homemade applesauce. He will walk away aglow in the obvious special attention and all will be right in the world. Right?

Tuesday, January 1, 2008

Day 1

And we're off...
Of course, this is baby Cael. Completely oblivious to the cereal puff on his nose. Just happy to see the mama!
