Day 60

Lou told me she heard her favorite song on the radio. She wrote down when it was on so we could be sure to hear it the next time it was on. I find this very enlightening. It's never occurred to me that my children might assume that radio stations play the same songs at the same time all day long... Sounds logical, doesn't it? She was disappointed when I explained how it really works... (I never did find out what song it was. I better work on that for her!)

Day 59

George was looking for a little privacy while he got dressed... I didn't have the heart to tell him a laundry basket provides little in the way of privacy...

Day 58

Ever enthusiastic.

Tuesday, February 26, 2008

Day 57

Auntie Sara got tired of being the "hoop" for George's basketball game so she suggested the kids bowl instead. Think they had fun?!
(Yes, George has a headlamp on. Just because he can.)

Day 56

Thanks to my friend Cynthia in Alaska and her post about RJ. (See here.) It reminded me that our little boys still fit in the kitchen sink for bath time! And, boy, does Cael love it!!

Day 55

This really is a recipe from "America's Test Kitchen." It's called "Hot Fudge Pudding Cake" and it is so yummy. Jason found it in the cookbook he got me for Christmas. Wonder what other delicious recipes are dwelling between the covers of that book?

Day 54

"Mom, that looks like a recipe from 'America's Test Kitchen."
"No, George. It's just my chicken pot pie recipe."
"Oh."
Yes, the three year old really did say this. Then he refused to eat dinner. Perhaps if I'd let the show take credit, he would have eaten it?

Day 53

Kjersten took this photo of her "Eiffel Tower" creation. See the resemblance? I guess it was a little taller before Cael "helped" her!

Thursday, February 21, 2008

Day 52

Whack!!!

(from the archives... the camera batteries croaked during the lunar eclipse last night)

Wednesday, February 20, 2008

Day 51

What else would I post tonite?

Do you know the story of Columbus and how this eclipse in 1504 saved his life and the life of his crew? If not, click here.

Day 50

Baby Ole has learned to kneel. Suddenly that's the prefered way of playing. No sitting for Cael. No thank you. He'll kneel. Much more interesting.

Day 49

Our tooth fairy is a slacker. Rhys lost a tooth at church on Saturday night. As is customary, he put it in the dish on the counter. Tooth fairy no-showed Saturday night. Kids decided that dad had stayed up too late and the tooth fairy cannot stop when everyone is not asleep. Tooth stays on counter in bowl. Sunday night the tooth fairy skips our house AGAIN!!! Have you ever heard of such a thing? Crazy... Seems the tooth fairy got her act together. This morning, Rhys found a shiny gold $1 coin in place of that tooth. Finally.

Day 47

It's like the postmark on Christmas cards... As long as it's postmarked by Christmas, it's all good, right? Well, we made the cookie dough on Valentine's Day. Just took us until today to roll it out and bake them. We might even manage to deliver them to grandma & grandpa tomorrow...

Friday, February 15, 2008

Day 46

Just going to play a game or two...

Thursday, February 14, 2008

Day 45

"I love playing with my buddy Bret. He makes me laugh!"

Wednesday, February 13, 2008

Day 44

Rain? Blurry, but definitely there... Of course, it was gone by 8 a.m. and it did not return. Figures.

Tuesday, February 12, 2008

Day 43

New goggles and face mask. He's ready to tackle that mountain. Again.

Monday, February 11, 2008

Day 42

Cael with his oldest brother.
Or, more accurately... Rhys with his youngest brother. (Thanks Carol!)

Sunday, February 10, 2008

Day 41

Perfect hand hold, huh Cael?!

Saturday, February 9, 2008

Day 40

"Look at the snow. Oh, nevermind... I think I'll just lick the window..."

Friday, February 8, 2008

Day 39

Junk food should never be on sale. Ever. We seem to like these little treats. They are an outrageous $2.50/ box at Target. My dear friend, Amy, called the other day to say she'd found them for a mere $.65/ box at a discount store. Really? Oh, I rue the day...

Thursday, February 7, 2008

Day 38

What an ordeal... Who knew that sealants on teeth could cause such strife in a little girl's day? She survived (with the help of nitrous oxide and her mama's soothing presence). Just wait 'til she finds out that the dentist wants to pull some teeth. We're going to need general anesthesia for that one!

Wednesday, February 6, 2008

Day 37

This is the "Bob the Tomato" super hero cape I made Rhys at least 7 years ago. It has been resurected and, once again, is helping a three year old leap, fly, and proclaim "super-hero" status. George (and the mama) couldn't be happier!

Tuesday, February 5, 2008

Day 36

Just recently, I made fun of my friend, Cynde, for buying 5 dozen eggs at one time. I mean, who does that?! Well, we do. Turns out that with four kiddos, 5 dozen eggs really doesn't last that long. Who knew? (Well, besides Cynde...)

Monday, February 4, 2008

Day 35

Mama, look what I found?!

Sunday, February 3, 2008

Day 34

Thanks to my friend, Mary Beth, I have been reminded that my children really do need to learn to cook before they leave home. Rhys is nearly 11 years old and today was his first attempt at pancakes. They were awesome... (You can see what she lets her kiddo do if you click here. Yikes!)

Saturday, February 2, 2008

Day 33

I was busy trying to organize some clothing. The kids had better ideas for my bins...

Friday, February 1, 2008

Day 32

"Mom, I'm cracking!!!!" Said with tears running down cheeks...
If you squint, you can see the scratch on George's left calf. He came running from the bathroom this morning, crying that he was "cracking"!!!! Turns out he had jumped off a plastic box that was ON the bathroom counter and that's how he broke. I was trying not to laugh at his "cracking" worry and trying not to wring his neck for jumping off anything, let alone the bathroom counter! Grrrrrr... I told him he couldn't jump anymore and he responded by asking, "If I do, will I crack more?" He had tears in his eyes at the thought. I assured him that, yes, he would crack more! We'll see if that keeps him off the counters. Doubt it.

Day 31

Whoops! Took the picture. Went about my day. Forgot to post it...
